‘Verse in Vision’  until 29th April

A solo exhibition at Number 8 Arts Centre in Pershore
Art with an element of intrigue incorporating poetry

“The mixed media works in this exhibition combine acrylic paint, ink and collage with poetry sourced from local writers. Lines of verse settle into the surface, sometimes emerging boldly, sometimes not immediately evident. In bringing community voices into her art, Susan creates pieces that are both personal and shared. Colour, texture and language work together to create a layered visual experience.” Many thanks to all the poets, and especially Suz Winspear.

A key feature of the exhibition is a set of 7 large pieces representing Worcester Canal-side incorporating poetry about the history of our local canals by former Worcestershire Poet Laureate Suz Winspear. The poems were written for the Ring Project and commissioned by the Canal and River Trust. Suz is a former Worcestershire Poet Laureate.

The exhibition is open until 29th April, Monday to Saturday 10 am to 4 pm and Evenings whenever an event/film is on. You can check this on Number 8’s website: https://www.number8.org/whats-on/

Preview evening

The Preview Evening on 9th April was a lovely event attended by around 50 people. Halfway through the evening Suz Winspear read her 7 ‘canal poems’ which were very much enjoyed by those present who had already seen some of the words on my artworks. Here you’ll see a few pics of the pieces on display, plus I’ve added some of the evening event.

If you’re in the Pershore area, please do go and see the exhibition. I’m very pleased with how it looks.
